The Argentex Academy, in partnership with The Social Mobility Foundation, offers university students the opportunity to gain an overview of the finance industry by coupling in-depth perspectives from Argentex’s currency risk experts with practical hands-on work experience.

A typical day
“During my month-long internship at Argentex, I gained invaluable insights into the intricate workings of a dynamic financial services company. This experience provided me with a holistic view of how different departments interconnect to create a fully functioning business ecosystem. Each day brought new learning opportunities. Mornings typically began with informative sessions led by department specialists, followed by hands-on tasks that allowed me to apply newly acquired knowledge. Learning and development
“Being selected to be part of the 2024 Argentex summer academy has been an amazing experience for many reasons. One of the first was being part of an amazing, friendly, and inclusive environment, which immediately made me think positively of the company. The main challenge I faced was having the confidence to go on the phones while we were on the sales floor. However, constant practice with team members and advice for improvement helped me build that confidence. I learned more about the different services offered at Argentex, which was quite interesting, especially learning more about how options work—a complicated product in itself. Overcoming challenges

“My key takeaway from this internship is the importance of all sides of Argentex’s business. After spending time in Sales, Compliance, Finance, and Marketing, I learned how each part of the business is vital and that communication is crucial. I learned how to structure conversations and pitches to work in my favour. I also learned the importance of screening new clients and the impact it can have on a business if not done correctly.
The biggest lesson I learned is how to work effectively in a team in a corporate environment, network with my colleagues, and confidently sell a product.”
